SilTrax® AS 1 Braided Retraction Cord (Aluminium Sulfate)
Because of the solid structure of the braided cotton cords, packing instruments can not penetrate and the fiber strands can not be individually seized. SilTrax AS is impregnated with a solution of aluminium sulfate before being dried by a special process which ensures both uniform aluminium sulfate content and hemostatic gingival retraction. Aluminium sulfate acts locally on the contraction of muscle fiber tissue in the body.

The knitted chains prevent slippage, fraying, and splicing when packing the cord. Because of the high absorbency of the thread, it can absorb larger quantities of hemostatic solutions than is the case with braided or twisted cords. When using KnitTrax we recommend a thicker cord than is usual for braided or twisted cords since the knitted cord is compressed in the sulcus.
